47575 - 47175 D1770 Locomotive 47575 was named 'CITY OF HEREFORD' at Hereford Station on 26th June 1985.
When EWS retired the locomotive in August 1999 the loco went into store at Motherwell Depot after failure on a Margam - Trostre working. It was due to be moved to Crewe Diesel Depot for repairs, but shortage of space meant the loco was left at Cardiff prior movement to Motherwell on 9th February 2001.
In June 2004, Riviera Trains purchased 47575 and had it immediately moved to Barrow Hill for repairs and repainting into Post Office Red livery. Since the sale to Riviera the nameplates have been removed.
Sadly this dual-braked locomotive will return not return to operational use during the future. Due to many wiring faults 47575 is now stored at Crewe Heritage Centre as a static display and will be kept as a donor to keep the rest of the fleet operational.
