47650 was renumbered from 47257 on the 4th July 1986, and was named 'BRISTOL BATH ROAD' at Bath Road Depot on 29th June 1991. She was then renumbered to 47805 on 3rd August 1989 and her nameplates were removed on 3rd March 1995.

After privatisation in 1994, Virgin Cross Country took lease of the locomotive from Porterbrook Leasing Company in 1997 and on 6th February 2002, after overhaul, was named 'PRIDE OF TOTON' at a private ceremony withheld at EWS Toton Depot.

This was the last class 47 locomotive to be painted in Virgin Cross Country Livery.

When Virgin Cross Country handed the locomotive back to Porterbrook Leasing Company, she was transfered onto a new lease with Freightliner Heavy Haul on 19th May 2003.

After 2 years operating in the freight sector she was purchased by Riviera Trains on 1st January 2005 and retained her Virgin livery, without nameplates until September 2006 when the locomotive was reliveried into Riviera's  company's house colours of Oxford blue.

On Friday 29th September 2006, 47805 was outshopped and named at L&NWR Crewe, 'TALISMAN' at a private ceremony along with sister locomotives 47839 and 47843.
