Welcome to Riviera Trains
47815 / D1748

47815  -  47660    47155   D1748

As 47155 it was loaned to West Thurrock Power Station on 01/76 for use of a static generator whilst the main line exciter at the station was under repair.

She was later renumbered to 47660 on 18/12/86 and again later renumbered on 31/08/89 to 47815. It was taken over by Porterbrook in 1994 and was leased to First Great Western in 1997. It received First Great Western Dark Green with Gold lining and was named 'ABERTAWE/SWANSEA' at Swansea Station on 01/07/00.

In 2004 the loco was still in use with First Great Western and was painted into Heritage BR Two Tone Green retaining its name 'ABERTAWE LANDORE'. The nameplates were finally removed on 31/12/04 when the loco was handed over to Riviera Trains on 01/01/05.

On 14th September 2005 it was named 'GREAT WESTERN' at Crewe Works Open Day and is now based at L&NWR Crewe.

In August 2006 47815 the first locomotive of our fleet required for long term use with Direct Rail Services for use on Flask trains. However Riviera wanted to keep 47815 back because of such great reliability and use her on any other requirements.

Note: Both the number 47815 and D1748 are carried on the locomotive.
