Riviera Trains Ltd, established in 1996, provides quality locomotives and coaching stock to support the additional requirements of train operating companies. Key customers have included Virgin Cross-Country, Arriva Trains Wales, First Great Western, First Scotrail, Freightliner, GB Railfreight, Serco Rail, Victa Westlink and Direct Rail Services.

Riviera is now the leading provider of charter trains to the rail tour industry working closely with the four leading charter train operating companies, EWS Network, Direct Rail Services, Victa Westlink Rail and West Coast Railway Company.

Principal rail tour customers include: Compass Tours, Nenta Train Tours, Past Time Rail, Pathfinder Tours 2006, The Railway Touring Company and Hertfordshire Rail Tours.

Charter & Additional Trains…

Riviera Trains pride themselves after many years of experience, in being able to operate virtually any type of private charter train over Network Rail lines in the UK. They can provide trains for VIP, business meetings, Conferences, Exhibitions, Agencies, Sporting events, Birthday Parties, Weddings, Luxury occasions and to individuals.

Locomotive Spot Hire...

With an ever growing locomotive fleet Riviera Trains can provide up to 11 locomotives for either spot hire, TOC work or even long term arrangements. The locomotives available are the British Rail Class 47 type, running at a maximum speed of 95mph. All of the fleet are fitted with Electric Train Heat and are maintained to be the most reliable source of locomotive in the UK. Many are available for hire from Crewe (Cheshire), or Old Oak Common (London), depending on your requirements. Riviera Trains are successful in hiring locomotives at very short notice of up to several hours. We are devoted to meet your requirements. Train Operating Companies requirements...

Riviera can provide more than just charter trains. We can provide Train Operating Companies with either coaches or locomotives. Over the last few years Riviera have become very experienced in providing train sets to TOC companies. A key customer is Virgin Cross Country who we've provided a stand-by set formed of 5 modern, air-conditioned coaches for over 3 years now. Other customers include Arriva Trains Wales, First Great Western and recently First Scotrail.

Days out...

Riviera Trains own their own charter tour operator - Pathfinder Tours - operating comprehensive days out using the range of Riviera's rolling stock.

The company now runs some 40 - 50 tours and excursions by rail every year, with several distinct styles of itinerary for the discerning traveller.

Luxury Charter Trains... Travelling to the Races.

Riviera Trains have provided private trains for valued customers to the Cheltenham Festival, Royal Ascot and Ebor Races in 2006/7. Totesport have been regular client which adds project & guest management services including transfers. Where better than on a private train to check form and enjoy the company of other race goers?

Luxury Charter Trains... The Golf Train.

Riviera Trains have provided 'The Great Briton' train set of high quality First Class travel to a number of Royal Open golfing events. The Train can travel down from Edinburgh or Glasgow or up from London via Birmingham; or it can be routed to suit the client’s needs.

‘The Great Briton’ was provided to a well known Midlands businessman to take all his friends on a ‘Birthday Bash’ to Scotland for three days to play golf; a fantastic time was had by all!

Luxury Charter Trains... To the Exhibition.

The organisers needed to bring buyers to the Meetings & Incentive Travel Show and to get them home at the end of the day, saving accommodation costs. The solution, provided by Riviera Trains, was to offer their buyers a private train & armchair-style First Class seats for comfortable travel and productive visit planning & networking time. The exhibitors also appreciated the managed environment for value time with buyers & visitors. The full-size tables are ideal for hospitality or presentations. 'The Buyer Flyer' was the perfect answer for all parties.

Location Services...

Riviera Trains can provide carriages as locations both on and off the railway. A range of carriages can be provided throughout the UK such as an Inspection saloon carriage, a Pullman carriage, a modern Intercity style First Class, a "door slammer" Standard Class or even a freight vehicle.
