The Royal Duchy | The Royal Scot | The Pride of the Nation | The Great Briton | The Norfolkman | The West Coast Set The Great Briton 'The Great Briton' train set is consisted of 8 luxury refurbished Mk2f, ex-Virgin West Coast, First Class vehicles, providing 42 seats per vehicle. All coaches are liveried in “Oxford Blue and Cream”, which was first adopted by Riviera in 2000 on the former “Riviera Limited” train set. Externally the coaches have been refurbished and have had interior improvements to provide a very high standard of quality for our travelling passengers. Each coach is fitted with air conditioning to provide the perfect environment to create one of the very best modern dining car trains operating in the UK, with each carriage named after a famous Great Briton (See below). This train can provide 336 Premier / First Class seats and 128 Standard Class seats. Additional, to provide a dining service 1 or 2 Kitchen Cars can also be consisted as well as a Buffet Car to provide a service of refreshments, boosting capacity of an extra 24 First class seats. The Buffet Car is usually situated between First and Standard Class and can also provide a designated wheelchair space. Being a modern train ‘The Great Briton’ can feature two of our Oxford Blue Class 47/8 locomotives top n tailed, although the concept is usually powered by two DB Schenker Class 67 locomotives. 'The Great Briton' train set is air braked only, to operate with both modern diesel and air braked steam locomotives. As this set is not vacuum braked, certain steam locomotives, not fitted with the air brake system, are not compatible to operate this train. Please be aware that a "Generator coach" (AX5) or a "Brake coach" (BFK) has to be included in any train formation due to regulations set by Network Rail. (A generator coach is only used normally during winter months but is available to provide heating as required through the coaches if the locomotive is not fitted with train heating equipment.) ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ First Class - Riding in Comfort... Spacious with exceptional comfort, the First Class seats are perfected in relaxing shades of maroon. When laid up each table features fresh flowers, with a table lamp and an overhead reading light. Not forgetting spacious legroom, a soft headrest and reclining seats, each carriage provides air conditioned comfort with large panoramic windows, one per table to make your journey memorable. Silver Service dining is provided, steward-served and chef-prepared food from daily fresh ingredients in our fully-equipped onboard kitchens. Trains can be branding and themed with an onboard entertainment option if required.
Coach Layout - First Class - 42 Seats

'The Great Briton' train set is made up of 8 luxury Mk2f First Class vehicles. All the vehicles have been brush painted by expert painters at our home depot of LNWR Crewe into Riviera's prominent house colours of Oxford Blue and Cream livery. 'The Great Briton' name is notified above the windows in 'Pullman' Style lettering and each vehicle is named after a famous Briton (names listed below). The British flag has also been hand painted on both sides of each carriage to give the train a distinct identity. Mk2 First Class Coach - FO
