The Royal Duchy | The Royal Scot | The Pride of the Nation | The Great Briton | The Norfolkman | The West Coast Set The Norfolkman 'The Norfolkman' train set is consisted of 6 First Class and 8 Standard Class Mk2f, ex-Anglia vehicles, All coaches are liveried in rail blue lined with a white strip, which was first adopted by Anglia Railways in 1997. Externally the coaches have been smartened up to provide high standards to our customers. Each coach is fitted with air conditioning to provide the perfect environment to travel. This train can provide 252 Premier / First Class seats and 544 Standard Class seats. Additional, to provide a dining service 1 or 2 Kitchen Cars can also be consisted as well as a Buffet Car to provide a service of refreshments, boosting capacity of an extra 25 First class seats. The Buffet Car is usually situated between First and Standard Class and can provide a designated wheelchair space. The train brake (DBSO) 9713 is known as the brake or Driving Van Trailer, this coach consists of 30 Standard Class seats, and can provide a designated wheelchair space, with a Guards compartment and a cycle storage facility. The DBSO vehicle enables the train to be driven from the opposite end in a “Push – Pull” concept. DB Schenker Class 90 electric locomotives are currently available to provide this facility with Riviera intending to fit such equipment to several Class 47/8 locomotives in the near future. Being a modern train ‘The Norfolkman’ can feature two of our Class 47/8 locomotives top n tailed, although the concept is usually powered by DB Schenker Class 67 locomotives. 'The Norfolkman’ train set is air braked only, to operate with both modern diesel and air braked steam locomotives. As this set is not vacuum braked, certain steam locomotives, not fitted with the air brake system, are not compatible to operate this train. Please be aware that a "Generator coach" (AX5) or a "Brake coach" (BSO) has to be included in any train formation due to regulations set by Network Rail. (A generator coach is only used normally during winter months but is available to provide heating as required through the coaches if the locomotive is not fitted with train heating equipment.) ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ Riding The Norfolkman... Spacious and exceptional comfort, the First Class seats are neatly trimmed in pleasing light Grey moquette material. Each table features with an overhead reading lamp. With spacious legroom, a soft headrest and reclining seats each carriage is air conditioned and each seat offers a large panoramic window.

'The Norfolkman' train set consists of up of 10 x Mk2f, First Class vehicles offering 42 seats per vehicle. 'The Norfolkman's' standard class interiors are finished in a pleasing shade of red moquette material and are kept to a high standard of presentation. Each coach offers 64 seats with luggage racks at the end of each coach, along with overhead storage above each seat. These coaches are excellent for long distance charter travel.
