The Royal Duchy | The Royal Scot | The Pride of the Nation | The Great Briton | The Norfolkman | The West Coast Set The Royal Scot 'The Royal Scot' train set is usually consisted of up of up to 8 luxury Mk1 First Class vehicles, with at least 1 or 2 Standard Class MK2a vehicles. All coaches are liveried in “Crimson Lake and Cream” which was the first livery to be adopted by British Railways for the Mk1 coaches when built. This train is currently being refurbished both externally and internally to provide a very high standard of quality for our travelling passengers, creating one of the very best traditional heritage dining car trains running in the UK. This train can provide 336 Premier / First Class seats and 128 Standard Class seats. Additional, to provide a dining service 1 or 2 Kitchen Cars can also be consisted as well as a Buffet Car to provide a service of refreshments, boosting capacity of an extra 44 standard class seats. The Buffet Car is usually situated between First and Standard Class. 'The Royal Scot' train set is air braked only to operate with both modern diesel and air braked steam locomotives. As this set is not vacuum braked, certain steam locomotives, not fitted with the air brake system, are not compatible to operate this train. Please be aware that a "Generator coach" (AX5) or a "Brake coach" (BFK) has to be included in any train formation due to regulations set by Network Rail. (A generator coach is only used normally during winter months but is available to provide heating as required through the coaches if the locomotive is not fitted with train heating equipment.) ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ First Class - A traditional wine and dine... Our classic coaches provide large windows, with traditional armchair-style seats, table lamps and headrest covers. All seats benefit from full-size tables with white table cloths and flowers in sumptuous surroundings. Fine Silver Service dining is provided, with all food chef-prepared from fresh ingredients in our fully-equipped onboard kitchens. The train can be branding and themed with onboard entertainment options if required to meet all individual requirements.

Currently a program in refurbishing our Mk1 coaches to adopted the livery of Crimson Lake & Cream is well underway with only 1 or 2 vehicles yet to be complete. This livery represents the first of classic liveries to be adopted by British Railways when the coaches were first built. Mk1 First Class Coach - FO

Our recently refurbished and exceptionally comfortable Mk2a Standard Class 64 seat vehicles have seen all the seats retrimmed in Dogger Red material, with a seat at each table. Again, the Buffet car which is formed in most train formations is a great place to have a drink and discuss the enjoyments of the day. A trolley service can be provided on each charter train if required.
